Maidenhead is a very active community and is also diverse both in its area and its people. We aim to ensure that if any member is unable to drive, then we can find some one who will take them to a hospital appointment, bring them to services or other events at the synagogue, and offer to do shopping, collect prescriptions, in fact whatever will help when they cannot do it on their own.

Tay-Sachs disease is a serious inherited condition that leads to a progressive deterioration in the nervous system of young infants. Children born with Tay-Sachs appear normal at birth and for their early months, all seems well. From about six months of age however, rather than continuing to develop skills and learning to sit up, these children become floppy and weak. They can no longer sit unsupported and a previously happy, playful baby loses interest in its surroundings.
