Welcome to the Hidden Middle: Special initiatives for Working-Age Members

If you’ve ever felt that there isn’t something that fits at synagogue with your busy schedule, we have two very time efficient activities for you!

Our events come under the title of The Hidden Middle, designed specifically for those of working age. Whether you’re juggling work, parenting, caring responsibilities or just busy life stuff, these events offer a low-pressure, friendly way to make friends and stay connected with your community.

Coworking Days

When: Once a month, 9am–5pm
Where: At the synagogue

Need a break from your kitchen table or a co-working spot with a bit more heart? Join us for a relaxed coworking day designed around Jewish connection, productivity and food!

  • Come for the whole day or just pop in for an hour
  • Drinks and snacks available all day
  • Communal lunch from 12:30–1:30pm
  • Quiet spaces and private rooms available for calls or focused work
  • Open to members working from home, freelancers, and anyone needing a change of scene
  • It’s £10 for the day to include all refreshments including lunch.

After Work Drinks

When: Twice a year (dates announced in advance)
Where: A local bar or pub

After Work Drinks is a chance to meet, unwind, and chat with a glass of something! We provide the nibbles, you grab your own drink at the bar, and the rest takes care of itself.

  • Open to all working-age members
  • No formalities, just good company and conversation
  • Booking is simple, just contact the office

Whether you’re a familiar face or new to shul, it’s an easy way to plug into community life and meet others in the same stage of life.

Why ‘Hidden Middle’?

Because too often, this age group can struggle with time and become a hidden group within the shul’s membership.

For more details or to join us at the next event, just reach out to the office to contact Jo, the organiser.
