The text of this extract from Felix Nasimov's last letter, written
a few days before he was murdered:
Have you already received some letter of your parents?
Please write in the next letter how they live and if they
are well, as I am very interested in it. I am very sorry
that you are not able to get them to you but all you can do
is not to desperate and to keep the mind up. - Dear friend
we all live in a bad situation and the soldiers in war
have more sorrows as we have. We must hope a good end
and work, that is all we can do. You may be
happy that you can live in a free country as a free
man and do all that you want. I wish you never to know
what it means to live like me. Four months I didn't
see a city, always together with the same people.
